Good in Boca. Everything worth knowing in Boca. Daily. Food and drink, events, shopping, wellness, home services.
Issue No. 9 | Wednesday, September 9, 2026
Boca Raton three day forecast: Wednesday 86 with 17 percent rain, Thursday 84 with 32 percent, Friday 90 with 46 percent

Gray, 86, and not really raining. ☁️ That is the entire forecast, and after the week we just had it is the least the sky has asked of anybody.

Let's get into it.

The Rundown

Cash stops working at the beach on October 1

The city posted it yesterday. From October 1 the beach gatehouses stop taking cash, so it is card, Apple Pay or Google Pay at Spanish River, Red Reef and South Beach. 🏖️

Nothing about the price moves, only how you hand it over. Daily parking stays $35 on weekdays and $50 on weekends and holidays for a normal car, $85 and $120 if you are oversized. Worth telling the one person in your life who still drives to the beach with a folded fifty in the console.

Three parking spaces at Mizner turn into a park

Friday afternoon, 3 to 7, the spaces in front of Sloan's get handed back to people. Seating, activities and live music where the asphalt is, run by the city with Strong Towns Palm Beach as part of Park(ing) Day. Free, no ticket, no registration.

Second year Boca has done it. It is a small argument about what downtown is for, and it is being made with three parking spots.

Sixteen restaurants, one afternoon, one passport

The Rotary Club put the Savor Boca Experience on sale yesterday. Saturday November 14, 1:30 to 4:30, check in at the median in Mizner Park, then walk sixteen kitchens on one ticket. 🍴

Kapow, Ramen Lab, Talkin Tacos, Serena Pastificio, Corvina, Crema, Belladukes, American Social and eight more, with an after party at Serena included. $65, or two for $100, which is the only sensible way to buy it. November sounds far away until you remember what happened to tickets for everything else this year.

Upcoming events

What's On

Tonight, 4pm

The Willow Theatre starts a four week run of subtitled international films, and this is not the kind of screening where they dim the lights and leave you to it. Film expert Shelly Isaacs introduces each one and runs the conversation afterward. Twenty five and up, which tells you exactly who this room is for. $12 residents, $15 if not. Sugar Sand Park, 300 S Military Trail.

Tonight, 6:30pm

Then get to the beach. Sunset yoga on the sand at Red Reef runs every Wednesday whether you show up or not. 🧘 Ten dollars for the hour if you live here, $12.50 if you do not, prepaid through the city rather than at the door. Bring a mat and nothing else. 1400 N Ocean Blvd.

The Plate

One price, every topping, no math

Olive U at Park Place charges $13.45 for a bowl, a pita or a platter, and that is the entire number. Pick a base, pick a protein, then take every topping and all four sauces without anybody reaching for a calculator. 🥙 Gyro, chicken shawarma, falafel and tofu all cost the same.

The cinnamon rice is the thing people come back for, sweet and savory in the same bite, and it is not on another Mediterranean menu in this town. Fries are cut in house every morning.

Feeding four, the family dinner is $49. Worth walking in for, too: the same bowl ordered through delivery runs about twenty percent more.

5560 N Military Trail, Park Place. Second location at Uptown on Glades. 561-500-0108.

The Glow

The blowout that comes with a macaron

Blow to Paris has been in Mizner Park since 2018 doing one thing properly. 💇 Blowouts are $45 short, $50 medium, $55 long, priced by your actual hair rather than by which stylist happens to be free, and somebody hands you a macaron and tea while you sit.

It is a nail bar in the same room, so a blowout and a manicure together is $70, which is the whole evening sorted in one stop. There is a children's menu called the Petites, for the eight year old who has developed opinions about her hair.

Closed Sunday and Monday through the off season. Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30 to 5:30. 9 Plaza Real S, Suite 106. 561-774-9495.

The Find

Where Boca gets the homecoming dress

Madeline's is downtown on SE 3rd, and walking in is the entire point. 👗 A green wall, a neon sign, and a run of gowns that goes from the short pink one a sophomore will actually wear to the ballgown her mother will talk her out of.

Thirty plus labels, Sherri Hill and Jovani and Terani through Chiara Boni and Teri Jon, and alterations are done on site so the dress never leaves the building. Prom, homecoming, bat mitzvah, quinceañera and mother of the bride, all in the same room.

They also work with the Corsage Project, which puts dresses on girls whose families cannot buy one. That is a standing arrangement, not a line on a website.

By appointment, so call before you drive over. 20 SE 3rd Street. Monday to Friday 10 to 6, Saturday 10 to 5. 561-576-2617.

Good to Know

620 reviews and 17 years on the road

Seasonal residents start landing this month, which means half of Boca is about to need something moved. 📦

We Move On Demand has been doing it here for 17 years and holds a 4.7 across 620 reviews, which is more than three times the record of anyone else working this market. Owner Eduardo Cunha Jr. runs four trucks and seven drivers on the federal registration, so the operation is small enough that the person who answers is the person whose name is on it.

Florida intrastate license IM1733. Accredited with the Better Business Bureau since 2021, A+. 561-212-7570.
