WEST BOCA FOOTBALL
The 19th best high school football team in America plays about fifteen minutes from your house 🏈
Somewhere along the way this stopped being a nice local story and became a national one. West Boca Raton is 3 and 0 and ranked 19th in the country. They have outscored people 85 to 14. American Heritage went down 24 to 7, Spanish River 37 to nothing, and Cardinal Newman 24 to 7 on Thursday.
This is a program that went 1 and 9 in 2021. Then back to back Class 6A state titles, 15 and 0 in 2024, and a 31 to 0 shutout in the repeat.
Adidas noticed. In August the Bulls were named one of 13 new schools added to Patrick Mahomes' Gladiator uniform program, the all white kit built off the Texas Tech design. 28 schools in the country wear it. One of them is on Glades Road.
Friday they host St. John's out of Washington, D.C. at 6:30. If you have never been, go to this one.

Issue No. 12 | Monday, September 14, 2026
Carmine's is finally out of the rendering stage, the skate park cleared its vote without a single no, and the beach gatehouses stop taking your cash in a little over two weeks.
Let's get into it.
The Rundown
That Italian market at Glades and Dixie is real now 🍝
For three years it was a rendering. There's actual construction on the triangular lot at Glades Road and Dixie Highway, next to the Brightline tracks, and what's going up is Carmine's Gourmet Market, the Palm Beach Gardens institution that's been at it since 1988.
It's their second location ever, and it anchors a 28,000 square foot center called Glades Station alongside a fine dining restaurant and office space. Developer is Investments Limited. They're aiming at the first quarter of 2027, so you've got a while, but you can watch it happen from the left turn lane.

The skate park went 7 to nothing 🛹
The planning board approved the North Park skate park unanimously on Thursday, September 4. It's 1.43 acres inside the 69.49 acre North Park site on NW Second Avenue, the old Ocean Breeze Golf Course land.
You get a pump track, two in-ground bowls joined by a snake run, and a separate street course with ledges, rails and stairs, plus shade structures and boulder seating. Residents sent in 43 letters for it and 3 against. It still needs final city council sign off before anyone breaks ground, so this is not a this-year thing.

Stop bringing cash to the beach gate 🏖️
Starting October 1, the city's beach park gatehouses will not take cash for daily or weekend parking. Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay only, at Spanish River, Red Reef and South Beach.
Through September 30 the daily rate for a regular car is $35 on weekdays and $50 on weekends and holidays. Buses and trucks pay $85 and $120. Worth knowing before you pull up to the gate with a twenty in your hand.

What's On
Friday, someone is turning parking spaces into a park 🌿
Boca is doing Park(ing) Day again, which is the global thing where a city takes curbside parking spots and builds a tiny public park in them for an afternoon, mostly to make a point. Friday, September 18, 3 to 7pm, at Federal Highway and Mizner Boulevard, in front of Sloan's. Seating, games, interactive art and music, in two parking spaces.
The city's Traffic Division is running it with Boca Raton Mobility and Strong Towns. Free, no ticket, no registration. Second year Boca has done it.

The mayor is doing lunch Tuesday 🎤
The Chamber's Young Professionals lunch has Mayor Andy Thomson on it, Tuesday, September 15, 11:45 to 1:15, at the Wyndham. If you have ever wanted to ask the city something without sitting through a council meeting to do it, this is the shortcut.

The Plate
Soup dumplings, except they are dessert 🥟
Red Pine at 1 Town Center Road put out a reel about its Chocolate Soup Dumplings and the whole idea is a small act of chaos. Same pleated wrapper, same steamer basket, same careful first bite so you do not wear it. Then it is warm chocolate.
Their line on it: "Dessert, Red Pine style. Our Chocolate Soup Dumplings are rich, warm, and worth saving room for."
They are open seven days, and they do lunch takeout and happy hour, so this is not a special occasion trip. This is a Tuesday.

The Glow
The treatment everyone is posting about is on Town Center Road ✨
Radiofrequency skin tightening is having a moment, and you do not have to go to Miami for it. Medbeautiq lists XERF on its own services page, in the Bank United building at 5295 Town Center Road, Suite 101.
They also run Sofwave, PDRN, biostimulators and PDO threads, which is a fairly serious list for a practice most people here have never heard of. Ten minutes from Town Center, no causeway involved.
Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. Closed weekends, so book it on a workday. 561.990.2229.

The Find
The closet clear out that pays you on the spot 👗
Everyone knows Plato's Closet as the place to buy. Half the town forgets it works the other direction too. Their own bio says it plainly: "Cash for your gently used items." You walk in with the bag, they go through it, and you leave with money the same day. No listing, no shipping, no waiting on a buyer who ghosts you.
Then the other half: current styles for up to 70% off retail. Which is how you arrive with a bag and leave with a different bag.
This is a genuinely good week for it. School is back, the closets have already been dug through once, and Boca is about to spend six months in shorts.

Good to Know
The closet person who does not just fold things nicer 🧺
Boca has no shortage of people who will come tidy your house. Clear Space by Shiffy is doing something else. Her stated approach is going after the root cause of the disorganization, not the surface of it, which is the difference between a closet that looks good in a photo and a closet that still works in March.
Closets, decluttering, and moves. She runs a 10% discount for healthcare workers.
