Fiserv just took a quarter of a million square feet at the old IBM campus, the council is about to be a member short until March, and the company that rents you a beach chair got re-signed without a price rise.

Let's get into it.

The Rundown

A quarter of a million square feet of Fiserv is moving into the old IBM campus 🏠

Fiserv has leased 254,000 square feet at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus, the brutalist slab on T-Rex Avenue that Related Ross bought earlier this month.

254,000 square feet, at 5000 T-Rex Avenue.

Somebody out there is about to open a very well timed coffee shop.

Boca is about to be a council member short, and they cannot agree what to do about it 🎭

Yvette Drucker leaves on November 10 to take over as Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller, and the council is split on whether to appoint a replacement or leave the chair empty.

The seat opens November 10 and the election is not until March 9.

The mayor's whole argument for filling it is that somebody has to break a tie.

Boca just re-signed the company that rents you a beach chair ⚓

The council renewed Oceanside Beach Service, the only bidder, across South Beach Park, Red Reef and Spanish River, for a year with four optional renewals. Nothing is going up.

$10 an hour or $30 a day for a lounger, cabana or umbrella, and $300 for the whole year.

Renting out sand furniture is a $185,000 a year line on the city's books.

What's On

You can watch a man pretend to be Russian tonight, or you can learn to dance 🌴

He is not Russian, and that is the entire act 🎭

Sergei Putinski is the character Byron Bertram has toured for years as Russia's only living comedian, and he plays The Box 2.0 at the Boca Black Box tonight at 7:30pm on a short Florida run that hits Naples the next night.

Tickets start at $34. 8221 Glades Road, Suite 10.

A Boca studio gives away an hour of its floor every Monday night 🎸

Boca Latin Dance Studio teaches Latin dance fundamentals at 7pm every Monday, and you do not need to bring a partner.

Free, 7pm, 7600 N Federal Highway, Suite 3.

Go on your own. The class is built for it.

The Plate

Everybody goes to this west Boca room for the sushi and the Thai half is the reason to stay 🍣

Boon's runs two kitchens out of one room in the Shoppes at Boca Greens, and the Thai side is the one people drive across town for. They call themselves west Boca's hidden gem on their own front page, which is either nerve or accuracy.

Hamachi jalapeño and crispy rice with spicy tuna are $15.95 each, the sushi sampler is $9.95 and chicken satay is $7.95.

19605 N State Road 7, Suite A. 561-883-0202. Any roll comes with brown rice if you want it, and they take orders through their own app.

Lunch closes at 2:30 and the kitchen comes back at 4:30, so go early and the room is yours.

The Glow

The facial everyone wants right now spends its hour on your muscles, not your skin ✨

It is called facial sculpting, and Albina built her whole studio around it. Her Sculpting Facial works lymphatic drainage and buccal technique across the face, neck and scalp, and the 90-minute version carries the same work down into the body.

The 60-minute Sculpting Facial is $119 and the 90-minute Face and Body Sculpt is $159.

Body Wax & Sugaring Studio, 3350 NW 2nd Ave, Suite A-42. She is open seven days a week, with the last weekday appointment at 8pm. Brows, lashes and sugaring are on the same menu.

Book the 90 if you have had the kind of week your jaw knows about.

The Move

A full workout in forty five minutes, and they hand you the mat and the towel 💪

Yoga Joint West Boca built its FIIT class around exactly that: strength, endurance and core work in an infrared-heated room, low impact the whole way. FLOW is the 60-minute version, built on breath and balance.

Mat and towel service is included, every spot on the floor is numbered and yours, and your first class is free.

8903 Glades Road, Suite L-6, in Somerset Shoppes. The rooms are heated with infrared rather than blown hot air, and the lighting changes colour through the class.

Bring a water bottle. That is the whole packing list.

The Find

Boca has been quietly sitting on the biggest used bookstore in South Florida since 1992 📚

That is Bookwise's own claim and the room backs it up: wall to wall used and rare titles, armchairs in the middle of the floor, and Booksmart sharing the space to supply textbooks to FAU and Palm Beach State.

Open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm.

145 NW 20th Street. 561-347-6455. They sell gift certificates and their own line of illustrated titles from $12.

Go in for one thing. That is not what happens.

Good to Know

You can book somebody to clean just your oven, and nothing else 🏠

Classmaids breaks the oven, the refrigerator and the laundry out as their own jobs, so the one thing you actually need done does not have to come attached to a whole house. Everyone on the team is background and reference checked and the products are non-toxic and biodegradable.

Booking is open online 24 hours a day, and the office is staffed Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm.

4756 NW 2nd Ave, Suite B23-24. 561-470-9200. They are a Boca Chamber member and publish a satisfaction guarantee.

Book it at midnight on a Sunday. That is when you will want to.

Want Boca to know your name?

Good in Boca lands in local inboxes five mornings a week. We work with a limited number of local businesses that want to be part of what people here are reading, doing, eating and talking about.

If Boca is your customer, you should probably be here.

Want your business featured? Hit reply and tell us what you're up to. We read everything, and we go and look.

That's your day.

Two things are open tonight and neither one wants anything from you but turning up. One you watch. The other one you are in by about the second song.

Everything else in here keeps until you want it, and most of it sits west of the highway, which is where Boca has quietly been getting good.

Something we missed? Hit reply, we read everything.
