Forecast: National Weather Service Miami
The mayor is taking open questions at the library on the 14th, the woman who used to run CVS shares a Boca stage with the president of the NYSE this Wednesday, and the old Office Depot campus is officially getting an Equinox.
Let's get into it.
The Rundown
The mayor is taking questions, no agenda 🏠
Mayor Andy Thomson is hosting a community town hall on the mezzanine at the Spanish River Library. The city is billing it as informal, which means you can ask about the thing that actually bothers you.
Wednesday, October 14, 6pm to 7:30pm.
Nine days to work out how to phrase it.

The Revlon CEO and the head of the NYSE are both here Wednesday ✨
Karen S. Lynch, who ran CVS Health, headlines the first Boca Regional Chambers women's leadership symposium at Lynn University, with Michelle Paluso of Revlon, Lynn Martin of the NYSE and Amy Bricker of Walgreens on the same stage.
Admission is $295 and the room is capped at 300.
Eight in the morning until three. Take the day.

The old Office Depot campus is getting an Equinox 💪
Crews have started the next phase of The Eclipse, the 29-acre rewrite of the Office Depot headquarters campus: a 37,000 square foot Equinox, two ground-up restaurant and retail buildings, and 494 rental apartments.
Fifty of those 494 apartments are set aside as workforce housing.
Retail in 2027, apartments in summer 2028. Pace yourself.

Panthers, swamps and a free seat 🎤
Doors at six, free, but you have to register first.
National Geographic Explorer Carlton Ward Jr. has spent years following Florida panthers through water like that, and he is bringing the pictures and the case for the corridor they need to the Kaye Auditorium on campus. Registration is on the university calendar.
Carole and Barry Kaye Auditorium, Florida Atlantic University, 777 Glades Rd, Boca Raton
Also tonight: line dancing, free lesson 🎸
Country night at Crazy Uncle Mike's, with DJ Gio Black on the music and the Southern Soul Dancers teaching the steps at seven to anyone holding a dinner reservation. Craft pints run four dollars and the bacon cheeseburger is twelve. Their calendar has the rest of the week.
Crazy Uncle Mike's, 6450 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton. 561-931-2889
The Plate
Three dollar meatballs, every Monday 🍝

Monday's entire personality, in one bowl. Photo: Lynora's
Lynora's sits out at Uptown Boca and runs a Monday that is hard to argue with: house meatballs, the Margherita pizza and a classic martini, all knocked down for the night. Their weekly features page spells it out.
Meatballs $3, the Margherita $12, classic martinis $8, Mondays only.
Lynora's, 9560 Glades Rd Suite 180, Boca Raton. 561-235-5096
Get there early. The bar fills up first.
The Glow
Lashes that survive a Boca summer 👀

A hybrid set, two weeks in. Photo: Lash Out! Boca
Lash Out! works out of the salon suites up by Polo Club, open seven days and until nine on weekdays, which is the part nobody else up there is offering. New clients get a free half hour consult before anyone touches an eye, and the whole price list is published, so there is no texting for a quote.
Classic set $250, hybrid $315, volume $350, lash lift and tint $125.
Lash Out! Boca, 5050 Champion Blvd D-5 Suite 102, Boca Raton. 561-600-3820
Book the two week refill on your way out.
The Move
Vinyasa with the heat turned up 🧘

The part of class nobody complains about. Photo: Gro Yoga and Wellness
Gro runs a warm room rather than a punishing one. Infrared panels hold it around ninety degrees, so you sweat through the flow without leaving in pieces. Gro Flow is the breath-and-movement class, Gro Strong is the one with resistance work, and the new student pass covers both. Handstand clinics and arm balance workshops turn up on the schedule too.
Sixty five dollars buys two weeks of unlimited classes.
Gro Yoga and Wellness, 141 NW 20th Street Suite D4, Boca Raton. 561-334-3001
Start with Gro Flow, then see how you feel.
The Find
Throw your own pottery, wine included 🎨

Somebody made these on a Wednesday. Photo: Mudworks Pottery
Mudworks is a real working clay studio, not a paint-a-mug shop, and the beginner wheel class is how you get in the door. Two hours, six people max, two balls of clay, and they fire and glaze whatever you make. Sip and Spin and Wine Wednesday are the same class with a bottle on the table.
Eighty dollars for the wheel class, and four weeks before your piece comes home.
Mudworks Pottery, 4260 NW 1st Avenue Studio 54, Boca Raton
The door stays locked, so book before you drive over.
Good to Know
The groomer who puts humanity before vanity 🐶

Straight off the table, no notes. Photo: Fur Crazy Pet Salon
Fur Crazy is out west and it is the rare salon that takes cats as seriously as dogs. The line they run the place by is painted right there: humanity before vanity, which in practice means flea shampoos that are pesticide free and a standing offer to use your vet's own bottle if you bring it. A bath is the full works, two shampoos, ears, nails, glands, fluff dry and a coat spray, and there is a non-anesthetic dental clinic on site once a month.
Nail trim $15 for dogs, $20 for cats, $40 for rabbits and parrots.
Fur Crazy Pet Salon, 9220 Glades Road, Boca Raton. 561-488-2242
They are shut Mondays, so aim for Tuesday.

Want Boca to know your name?
Good in Boca lands in local inboxes five mornings a week. We work with a limited number of local businesses that want to be part of what people here are reading, doing, eating and talking about.
If Boca is your customer, you should probably be here.
Want your business featured? Hit reply and tell us what you're up to. We read everything, and we go and look.
That's your day.
A man who has spent his working life standing chest deep in swamp water is on a campus stage tonight, showing you the animals he found in there, and nobody takes your money at the door. If you would rather be on your feet, there is a country night across town where the lesson is thrown in with dinner.
Everything else is for the rest of the week. Meatballs on a Monday, a lash appointment that does not require a text thread about pricing, a warm room with your name on a mat, a wheel class where you leave with something you made, and a groomer who will take the cat too. Pick one and go.
