The CBD Brand that Actually Does What It Says
CBD is having a moment and CBD brands are everywhere right now. But with so many options, it can be tough to know what to look for – and which brands actually follow through on their claims.
That’s where CBDistillery sets itself apart. For the past decade, all of CBDistillery's products have been made with non-GMO, US-grown industrial hemp and with 100% clean ingredients – no corn syrup or artificial colors, flavors, preservatives or sweeteners.
They frequently introduce new and innovative products formulated to meet a variety of wellness needs and customer preferences. And every single batch of CBDistillery’s gummies, oil tinctures, topicals and softgels are tested by an independent, accredited lab to make sure what’s in the package matches what’s on the label.
Right now, CBDistillery is offering our readers a special deal: save 50% on orders of $75 or more with code NEWS50!

Boca is lining up four more athletic fields because the FAU ones run out in 2030, the art museum closes two of its biggest shows on Sunday, and the public school everybody tries to get into just got ranked number one in the country.
Let's get into it.
The Rundown
The fields your league plays on have an expiry date ⚽
Boca loses access to three sports fields at Florida Atlantic in 2030, and the replacement is already on paper. The next phase puts four new fields, parking and restrooms at Countess de Hoernle Park.
Four fields, in design and permitting right now, for a deadline four years out.
The Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District pays for and maintains them, the city owns the land and does the scheduling, and that split has run since 2011.
That is a long runway for four rectangles of grass.

You have four days left, and today is not one of them 🎨
The Boca Raton Museum of Art closes TYPOE GRAN: Anatomy of a Practice and Modernisms: Art from the Manes Collection on Sunday, after a run that started in March. It is shut Monday and Tuesday, so the window is Wednesday to Sunday.
Sixteen dollars to get in, twelve at 65 and over, free under 18.
Thursday is the late night and the doors stay open until 8pm. Everything else runs 10 to 5 at 501 Plaza Real.
Four days, two shows, sixteen dollars.

Boca just got the top public school in the country ✨
Niche put FAU Lab Schools at number one for best public K-12 in its 2027 rankings, ahead of 1,903 schools nationwide. A.D. Henderson and FAU High share the ranking, and they took first in Florida too.
FAU High also moved to number 15 in the country for public high schools, up from 23.
It landed at number 5 nationally for college prep, up twelve spots, and the teachers ranked first in Florida at the elementary, middle and high school levels.
First time either school has topped a national list.

What's On
Poker with nothing to lose but pride 🃏

Two games, no buy in, all night. Photo: Good in Boca
The Irishmen runs free pub poker twice on a Tuesday, seven and nine thirty, through the No Limit Pub Poker Tour. No buy in, no cover, no drink minimum, no membership. You sit down, you play, and if you bust out of the first one you get a second shot ninety minutes later. The league lists the venue.
Two games, seven and nine thirty, and nothing to put in to sit down.
The Irishmen, 1745 NW 2nd Ave, Boca Raton. 561-368-1129
Kitchen goes until midnight, so dinner is covered either way.
Lynn women's volleyball hosts Nova Southeastern 🏐
The Fighting Knights are in the Sunshine State Conference, so Nova Southeastern walks in as the opponent nobody on that floor wants to lose to. First serve is seven in the de Hoernle gym, and a packed college arena is louder than any pro building you have sat in. The schedule has it.
First serve 7pm at the de Hoernle Sports Center.
Lynn University, 3601 N Military Trail, Boca Raton
Walk up and see, nothing is posted about the gate.
The Plate
Maman opens out west today 🥐

The blue toile is the whole personality. Photo: Good in Boca
Maman is the French American bakery people queue for in New York, and the one everybody orders the nutty chocolate chip cookie at. Grand opening is today at Shadowood and they are making a day of it: a tote and a cookie for the first hundred through the door, a pop up shop from eleven to one, and a charm bar from one to three. Their west Boca page.

Maman, 9959 Glades Rd #120, Boca Raton. 561-235-5132
Opening hours are not posted yet, so go early.
The Glow
Brows shaped with thread, not wax 🧵

One hair at a time, no strip. Photo: Good in Boca
Bijal threads and only threads, so the arch gets built hair by hair instead of torn off in a strip. Nothing hot touches your face and nothing lifts the skin, which matters if you have ever walked out of a wax room blotchy. She takes walk-ins, which almost nobody in this category does. Their service list.
Brows take about fifteen minutes. Add a tint, or do the whole face, if you have longer.
Dee Eyebrow Threading, 9704 Clint Moore Rd Suite A-105, Boca Raton. 561-826-7391
Open till six on weekdays, five on Saturday.
The Move
Three instructors, one dance floor 💃

Claudia in the neon, everyone else keeping up. Photo: Good in Boca
Claudia Pinedo has been teaching Zumba since 2013 and her Boca class runs Thursday nights, an hour of Latin dance that counts as cardio whether or not you can actually dance. No membership and no sign up, you just turn up to the class you want. On October 24 she brings in Maria and Yesenia for a ninety minute Hispanic Heritage master class, and it is listed on her own site and nowhere else. Her events page.
The master class runs 1 to 2:30 on October 24, three instructors, fifty spots and that is the cap.
al RITMO with Claudia, Thursdays 7pm, 9930 Clint Moore Rd Unit D101, Boca Raton. 561-843-0442
Wear your country's colors to the master class. She means it.
The Find
Press your own bath bombs out west 🫧

Gloves on, lavender everywhere. Photo: Good in Boca
Buff City makes everything in the shop rather than shipping it in, and the part worth knowing is that you pick the scent and they blend it in front of you, free, from more than thirty options. The body butter is makery only, so it does not exist online at all. Book the counter and you press your own mini bath bombs. Their shop page.
More than thirty scents, blended while you stand there. The body butter you can only get in the shop.
Buff City Soap, 9674 Glades Rd Suite 500, Boca Raton. 561-757-6701
Open till eight Friday and Saturday.
Good to Know
Those electric motos have a dealer 🏍

The thing half of Boca is suddenly riding. Photo: Good in Boca
Every one of those silent electric motos you keep getting passed by came from somewhere, and a lot of them come from here. Boca Scooters is an authorized dealer for Sur-Ron, Talaria, Zero and Stark, which is the difference between a machine with a warranty behind it and a crate that turned up from a website. They stock them, they set them up, and they are the people to call when something goes wrong with yours. What they carry.
Authorized for Sur-Ron, Talaria, Zero and Stark, and the Stark machines carry a two year warranty.
Boca Scooters, 140 Glades Rd, Boca Raton. 561-393-7100
Registration and tags are on you, and it depends on the model.

Want Boca to know your name?
Good in Boca lands in local inboxes five mornings a week. We work with a limited number of local businesses that want to be part of what people here are reading, doing, eating and talking about.
If Boca is your customer, you should probably be here.
Want your business featured? Hit reply and tell us what you're up to. We read everything, and we go and look.
That's your day.
There is poker at seven and again at nine thirty tonight and nobody takes a thing off you to sit down, which is the rarest sentence anyone writes about a card table. If you would rather watch other people compete, Lynn women's volleyball hosts Nova Southeastern at the same hour and a packed college gym beats whatever is on your television.
Before any of that, Maman opens out west this morning and the first hundred through the door leave with a tote and a cookie. The rest keeps: brows done with thread instead of wax, a Thursday dance class you can walk into, a soap shop that blends your scent while you stand there, and the dealer behind every silent moto that has passed you this month. Pick one and go.
