Quality, Tested CBD – and Why It Matters
CBD is increasingly popular, with hundreds of products designed to provide everything from better sleep to relief and recovery to increased focus. Once you’ve figured out which CBD formula is right for you, it’s important to be able to trust that what’s in the bottle or jar matches what’s on the label.
This is where third-party testing comes in. Independent labs test CBD products, verifying the cannabinoid content matches what’s on the label and screening for the presence of heavy metals, pesticides, and other contaminants.
Unlike some companies that cut corners, CBDistillery ensures that every single batch of their CBD products are tested by an accredited lab. And these test results are posted on their website, so you can see them before you place your order.
CBDistillery is so sure you’ll like their products, they’re offering a special deal: save 50% on orders of $75 or more with code NEWS50!

Forecast: National Weather Service Miami
Nine county beaches are off limits for swimming and three of them are ours, the city is giving away free seats to a mobility workshop at FAU next Thursday, and Patch Reef Park opens an adaptive recreation center on Friday night.
Let's get into it.
The Rundown
The water is closed at three city beaches ⚓
The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County tested the county's beaches on Monday and found enterococcus above the recreational standard at nine sites, three of them here. Spanish River, Red Reef and South Inlet are all under a no swim advisory.
The sand is still open. It is the water that is closed.
The city also shut swimming at South Beach as a precaution, and that one was never even tested. Advisories like this usually clear in 24 to 48 hours once a second sample comes back under the line, and the beaches themselves stay open the whole time.
Walk it today. Swim it Thursday.

The city will explain what it is doing to your roads 🚌
The second annual Mobility Workshop runs Thursday, October 29 from 4:30 to 7pm at Gangal Hall in FAU's Engineering East building, with the Palm Beach MPO, FDOT and Circuit all at the tables.
It is free, but capacity is limited and you have to register before you turn up.
The exhibit hall opens at 4:30, Public Works staff give updates on current projects at 5:30, and FAU students present their own ideas for the next decade from 6 to 7. Register here.
Complain about the traffic to somebody who can actually change it.

Patch Reef built a room for the kids who need a quieter one ✨
The city opens its Community Accessibility Program at Patch Reef Park this week, an adaptive recreation space with a sensory room, drop in open play in the clubhouse and sensory friendly equipment. The ribbon cutting is Friday from 6 to 8pm.
Membership is free to apply for and open to anyone with a diagnosed disability.
Members get priority registration and access to the sensory room. Regular hours start Saturday and run Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 7pm, at 2000 Yamato Road. Program registration is not open yet, and the number for questions is 561-367-7034.
Tour it Friday. Bring whoever needs it.

Somebody explains AI over free wine 🍷
Shaun Bevan runs technical product at The SilverLogic, and his argument tonight is that writing the spec first beats improvising with an AI assistant. Networking at 5:30, the talk at 6:30, more wine at 7:30.
It is free, and if you would rather not drive, the 6:30 talk goes out live on LinkedIn and YouTube.
RSVP stays open until 8pm on the day itself, and there are non-alcoholic pours for anyone who wants the talk without the wine. RSVP here.
The SilverLogic, 6413 Congress Ave #130, Boca Raton.
Free wine on a Wednesday. Bring a coworker.

Chef Duane Morgan has cooked Jamaican in Boca since 2009 and runs Rocksteady with his wife Frances. This dining room is their second, opened after the jerk cafe took off, and readers made it Observer runner up for Latin and Caribbean in 2024.
The jerk comes off the grill blackened at the edges, which is how it is meant to arrive.
Jerk chicken is $19.90 and the oxtail stew, the other thing they are known for, is $29. Curry goat is $23.90. Lunch runs 11:30am to 2:30pm and dinner from 5pm. View the lunch and dinner menus.

She works crushed herbs into your skin 🌿

The herbs the treatment is made of. Photo: WordPress Photo Directory
Kimberly Karima Johnson is the only person who works at Muva K, and the Green Peel she does is not a chemical peel at all. It is crushed herbs worked into the skin by hand, and she is the only one in Boca who lists it. She carries a 5.0 across 231 reviews.
The five day follow up is included in the price of the Classic rather than booked as a second visit.
The Classic is $499 with that follow up included, the Fresh-Up is $250 and the Energy is $275. She is open 10am to 7pm on Wednesday. Book an appointment.
Muva K Aesthetics, 1101 S Rogers Cir Unit 11, Boca Raton. 954-505-0799.

An LPGA pro teaches here every Wednesday ⛳

The course the clinic runs on. Photo: Southwinds Golf Course
Four LPGA teaching professionals are registered in Boca and three of them sit behind a country club gate or on a university roster. Pat Dowd teaches at Southwinds, the county course anyone can walk into.
The Wednesday clinic takes all abilities, so turning up having never held a club is the normal way in.
It runs 11am for an hour at $20 with range balls included, and a private half hour is $60. The course reopened a year ago after a full summer rebuild, and they keep bees on site and sell the honey in the shop. View clinic details.

They stock the labels you usually order online 👗

Jessie Boutique runs a designer floor rather than a mall rack: Self-Portrait, Ulla Johnson, Veronica Beard, Cult Gaia, L'Agence, PatBo and Alice + Olivia. The Boca room is one of four they run.
You can try Self-Portrait and Ulla Johnson on here instead of ordering three sizes and sending two back.
The A.L.C. Cooper ribbed top is $147.50, the Ada satin halter is $295 and the Amélie jacket is $550. They take personal shopping appointments too. Shop the collection.

A certified planner reads your college essay 📚

Pages somebody has to actually read. Photo: WordPress Photo Directory
Judi Robinovitz has been doing this for 35 years and she is a Certified Educational Planner, a credential an independent board awards rather than something a website claims. Her practice is accredited by Cognia and approved by the College Board and the NCAA.
Thirty five years of reading these is the thing you are actually hiring.
Private college essay reviews start at $99, which is the way in rather than the whole service. The office runs 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Explore services.
JRA Educational Consulting, 900 Broken Sound Pkwy NW Suite 100, Boca Raton. 561-872-5130.
Start before the essays are due, not after.
