The surf is big enough to flood the roads ⚓
The National Weather Service reissued its high surf, coastal flood and rip current advisories for coastal Palm Beach County at 11:58pm last night. Waves were washing over the south jetty at Boca Inlet on Tuesday.
Five to eight foot breakers, moderate coastal flooding, and none of it clears until Saturday.
Parks and low roads get it worst.

Ninety seven apartments cleared their last vote 🏠
Council approved Park Tower at Broken Sound on a 3 to 1 vote, eight stories at 1075 and 1095 NW Broken Sound Parkway. A one story industrial building comes down for 97 rentals.
Ten of the 97 are set aside as affordable, at 120 percent of the county median income.
What the other eighty seven cost is still nobody's business.

A barista built this pumpkin latte himself ☕

A coffee worth sitting down for. Photo: WordPress Photo Directory
Berke Arslankara opened Espresso Joint downtown in August 2025, and readers put it on the 2026 Readers' Choice list as a finalist for favorite locally owned coffee spot. House and afrohouse play across the counter all day, and the patio takes dogs.
A barista named Victor built the pumpkin latte from scratch, and it leads a fall drop of pumpkin spice, stroopwafel and brown butter cinnamon.
A latte is $5, the whipped honey latte $7, a breakfast sandwich $7. Open 7am to 7pm most days, but they close at 5pm this Thursday. Cards only. See the menu.

They hand paint ghosts onto your nails 💅

One ghost, going on by hand. Photo: Nail Depot
Nail Depot sits downtown and carries the deepest verified review count of any nail room in the city, 4.83 from 865 ratings on Booksy. The spooky season sets are going on now: ghosts, pumpkins and spiderwebs, painted one nail at a time.
Walk in with a screenshot of the set you want and somebody there will paint it freehand while you sit.
A gel manicure is $42, a Dazzle Dry manicure is $40 and skips the lamp and the drill entirely, and a builder gel set is $60. Open 9am to 6pm Monday through Saturday. Book a chair.

The Move
Tonight's run club starts at a pub 👟

Thursday evening, any pace you like. Photo: Iso Republic
Running for Brews meets at The Irishmen every Thursday at 7pm, runs a 5k route and comes straight back to the bar. It is free, it happens every single week, and every pace is welcome.
You sign one waiver, turn up in whatever you already own, and nobody is timing you or ranking you at the end.
The club has been doing this since 2012 across the country, and walkers finish the same route the same night. The kitchen here runs to midnight, so dinner afterwards is handled. Sign the waiver.
The Irishmen, 1745 NW 2nd Ave, Boca Raton. 561-368-1129.
Walk it if you want. Nobody checks.
