The water at the city beaches is clean again just in time for the weekend, the library is putting $55,000 behind an artist who wants its atrium windows, and a 1939 building downtown gave up its apartments to get a restaurant.

Let's get into it.

The Rundown

Go ahead and get back in the water 🌴

The city lifted its swimming advisory on Thursday afternoon at Spanish River, Red Reef, South Beach and South Inlet Park, after the Florida Department of Health tested the water on Wednesday.

The samples came back at an acceptable level of Enterococcus bacteria under state guidelines.

The advisory had kept swimmers out at all four city beaches.

Your weekend just got its ocean back.

The library is paying somebody to take over its windows 🎨

The city opened a $55,000 commission for a temporary artwork across the atrium windows at the Downtown Library, built on memoirs by residents 55 and over with the Boca Raton Museum of Art.

No application fee, and up to three finalists get $2,500 each just for making the shortlist.

Submissions close December 8. The piece goes up in August 2027.

Qualifications only. They do not want a design yet.

A 1939 corner downtown trades apartments for a restaurant 🏠

The planning board backed a revised plan for the two story 1939 building at 101 E. Palmetto Park Road, next to Sanborn Square, dropping the four studio apartments and turning the ground floor into a restaurant.

The restaurant gets 550 square feet of outdoor seating, and the building still has no parking of its own.

The Community Redevelopment Agency has the final say. Nothing changes outside.

Eighty seven years in, it finally gets a patio.

Lyndsi L opened Blo Boca in Regency Court at Woodfield in June 2024, the first of several she is planning in the county. It is a blow dry bar rather than a salon, so you book a style off a menu and walk out with it.

They are booking Halloween glam right now, and the makeup menu runs from a full face down to just the lashes.

A blow out is $55, with a braid $65, with a head massage $65, and a customized look runs $85 to $99. Full face makeup is $75, lashes on their own $15. Open 8am to 6pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 7pm Friday and Saturday, and 10am to 5pm Sunday. See the full menu.

Bring a mat, or do not. They hand you one. Photo: Iso Republic

Composure Club is a fourteen thousand square foot private club that has not opened yet, and on Sunday it opens the doors for one free class. The Ascend is bodyweight HIIT, and the bands and mats are provided.

You get inside before the members do, and it ends with coffee from Mane Coffee and a B12 shot from The Biostation.

11am Sunday, free, and the RSVP is required because the space is capped. Founder David Somberg built it around six rooms rather than a gym floor: turf lanes, a movement studio, a contrast suite with cold plunge and sauna, a treatment room, a cafe, and a butterfly sanctuary for sound baths. See the club.

The peptides ship cold to your door

Drip Envy runs two things out of one suite. Physician guided peptides, GLP-1, BPC-157 and NAD+, shipped cold to your door, and nurse administered IV therapy in a walk in lounge with recliners.

A registered nurse takes vitals and a questionnaire before anything goes in, and the concierge fee is one flat rate that covers everyone in the room.

Twelve published drip formulations run $249 to $649. Concierge at home or at a hotel is a flat $75 a visit for the whole group. Walk ins are welcome, 9am to 6pm Friday and Saturday, closed Sunday. They hold 5.0 from 7 on ClassPass and 5.0 from 4 on Yelp, both thin counts. See what they run.
Drip Envy, 3200 N Federal Hwy Suite 107, Boca Raton. 561-408-4800.
