Forecast: National Weather Service Miami
A downtown condo tower is half sold before it ever went on the open market, Brightline is running game day trains to the HEAT out of the Boca station again, and the city threw its first dog Halloween on Saturday.
Let's get into it.
The Rundown
Half the downtown tower sold before anyone could walk through it 🏠
Mr. C Residences is 50 percent sold with nothing standing yet, and half of that went in the first six months. It went back to the Community Redevelopment Agency on Monday for the last sign off.
Prices start at $2.2 million for 133 units on 2.1 acres, land the developers paid $25.5 million for in 2023.
Nobody has seen a finished room yet and the second half is the hard half.

The HEAT train is back and it stops here 🚌
Brightline has brought back its Buzzer Beater game day trains for the 2026-27 HEAT season, and Boca Raton is one of the five stations on the run.
Trains drop you at MiamiCentral, about a 15 minute walk from Kaseya Center, with no garage and no drive home.
Look for the Buzzer Beater icon when you book and let somebody else do the merging.

The city threw its first dog Halloween and the dachshunds ran it 🐶
Boca ran its first Howl-O-Ween at Countess de Hoernle Park on Saturday, free, with a dog show, a wiener dog race and a costume contest in five categories.
Best overall costume won a suit or gown cut to that dog's own measurements, and the fastest dachshund went home with a bed.
Three rescues brought adoptable dogs, which is the part that actually mattered.

The Boca Chamber Fall Business Expo fills the Wyndham event center from 5:30 to 7:30pm with vendors and restaurant tastings, and one drink comes with admission. It is free for members who pre-register and $10 at the door, and it is indoors, which matters with the rain coming. Register here.
Wyndham Boca Raton, Event Center, 2nd floor, 1950 Glades Rd, Boca Raton.
Sushi on the water, and happy hour is the time to go 🍣
Kasumi sits inside the Waterstone Resort on the Intracoastal, and its bar and lounge run happy hour Tuesday through Friday, 5:00 to 7:00pm. Order the 12 piece sushi and sashimi set for $29 and pair it with one of the new fall cocktails: Falling for Plum, Golden Fig or Autumn Hugo. It is indoors, so the rain can do what it wants. See the happy hour menu.
Kasumi, Waterstone Resort, 999 E Camino Real, Boca Raton. 561-226-3033.
Sit at the bar and order the plum one.
Nearby: a rooftop happy hour in Delray 🌆

Nearby: pizza at the bar on Atlantic Avenue 🍕
Elisabetta's on Atlantic Avenue runs happy hour at the bar every day from 4:00 to 7:00pm: $10 pizzas, $8 cicchetti and $2 off drinks. It is indoors, which makes it the Delray plan if the rain shows up. See Delray's happy hours.

The Plate
I came for breakfast, left with cheese

What leaves with you. Photo: WordPress Photo Directory
Nicolas and Catherine Vernet run a French market and cheese counter with a restaurant attached, and Rolf Baumann cooks it. Readers have it at 5.0 from 160 on Yelp, which is the strongest number anywhere in this issue. Doors open 9:00am on Tuesday and it runs to 6:30pm.
The breakfast set puts a plate and a hot drink in front of you before the morning gets going, and then you have to walk back out past a counter of French cheese you had no plans to buy.
The breakfast set is $8.95 with the hot drink included. They are shut on Mondays, which is exactly why this is a Tuesday thing. See what is on the counter.
Gourmet Market French Specialties, 2800 N Federal Hwy Ste 100, Boca Raton. 561-609-2686.
Go hungry and bring a bag.
The Glow
I look like I slept. I did not sleep. 💄

Out of their own chair. Photo: Blowzonerosé
The makeup room at Blowzonerosé belongs to Deniz Alpaslan, who spent fifteen years as a regional artist for Laura Mercier and was trained by Mercier herself. Observer readers just named it a 2026 Readers' Choice finalist for makeup artistry, and Google has it at 4.9 from 494. Tuesday runs 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Doors open at nine, so you can get a full face done before work and walk in looking like you had the restful weekend you did not have.
The Natural Look starts at $130. See the menu.
Blowzonerosé, 435 S Federal Hwy, Boca Raton. 561-717-8182.
Ask for Deniz by name.
The Move
Nearby: a Lagree class in Delray 🔥

The wall is not exaggerating. Photo: The Burn Society
The Burn Society opened on SE 5th Avenue in Delray in 2023 as a Lagree studio, the workout done on a Megaformer machine where every move is slow and held under constant tension. Tuesday classes run from 6:30am to 1:00pm and again from 5:00 to 7:30pm, and Wellhub members rate it 4.88 from 16.
Lagree is slow on purpose, so the shaking starts long before the class is over, and it is indoors, so the rain does not get a vote.
Book a class.
The Burn Society, 47 SE 5th Ave Ste 5, Delray Beach. 561-930-0548.
Take the 5pm, then walk to Elisabetta's for happy hour.
The Find
One store for you and your daughter 👗

Her rack on one side, yours on the other. Photo: IF SO
IF SO on West Yamato dresses women and girls 8 to 16 under one roof, which makes it the rare Boca store where a mom and her daughter both leave with a bag. Their new À La Mode drop just landed for both sides of the store: bows, scalloped edges, soft knits and polished denim. Tuesday runs 10:00am to 6:00pm.
The denim scallop dress comes in girls' 8 through 14 and a women's small, so the matching outfit is right there on one rack.
The denim scallop dress is $98. See the new drop.
IF SO, Woodfield Plaza, 3013 W Yamato Rd Ste B19, Boca Raton. 786-942-2626.
Go after school and let her pick yours.
