Why Your Moisturizer Stops Working

If your moisturizer isn’t working quite like it used to, you’re not alone. As we age, our skin shifts below the surface—losing the collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid, and barrier integrity it needs to stay hydrated and firm. This leads to thinner, weaker skin that struggles to retain moisture, no matter how many “hydrating” creams you apply.

But OneSkin’s new OS-01 FACE RICH CREAM is built differently. While most moisturizers sit on the skin’s surface and wash off at the end of the day, OS-01 FACE RICH CREAM works at the cellular level to actually rebuild the density that allows skin to hold onto moisture. It’s powered by a Dual-Phase Hydration System, combining potent bioactive humectants with OneSkin’s age-reversing OS-01 Peptide™ to promote healthier collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production, and fortify the skin barrier. The results: deep, lasting hydration and progressive visible firmness—for resilient skin that keeps up with you.

The council found a way to let a few houses keep their height, FAU is on ESPN tonight at 7:30, and a room full of golfers told the parks board that Boca has nowhere left to play.

Let's get into it.

The Rundown

The house height fight ended in a quiet carve out 🏠

The council spent Tuesday night on how the city measures the height of a house, and city attorney Joshua Koehler opened by telling the room that none of the numbers are changing.

Only the homeowners already in the pipeline get to build under the old reading. Everyone else waits for the rewrite.

The argument is over Section 28-2 and how much extra a qualifying roof portion is allowed above 25 feet, which is the difference between a two story teardown and the three story thing that replaces it. Mayor Andy Thomson proposed the middle ground after neighbors, builders and pending homeowners all objected.

Nothing changed on paper. A handful of driveways would disagree.

The Owls are on ESPN tonight and it actually matters 🏈

Florida Atlantic plays at North Texas tonight at 7:30 on ESPN, four days after a 51-49 win over Rice at home.

FAU is 5-2 and 2-1 in the American. North Texas has not lost a conference game yet.

It is a short week for a team that played Saturday, and head coach Zach Kittley spent it previewing the Mean Green on the school's own show.

Thursday night, national window, and the Owls are the ones who need it.

Boca's golfers showed up. The golf budget did not. 🌴

The city council and the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District sat down Monday night for their first joint meeting in three years, and the room filled up with public golf advocates taking two minutes each.

District vice chair Erin Wright put it plainly: we do not have any money allocated for golf.

The district bought the old Ocean Breeze course in 2018 and renamed it North Park. Robert DuKate told them there are not enough tee times at the city's two public courses, and Mayor Andy Thomson said he has a problem with a golf component at North Park at all. The west side is still undesigned.

Eight years in, the shovels have been out and the greens have not.

Halloween yappy hour 🐶

Sushi by Bou runs a Howl-o-ween yappy hour 🐶 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm, and the entry gets you a themed cocktail, small bites, the raffle and a spot in the doggie costume contest. It benefits Tri-County Animal Rescue.

$25 puts a drink in your hand and your dog in a costume contest at an omakase counter, which is a sentence Boca earned.

Sushi by Bou, 409 SE Mizner Blvd, Boca Raton.

A furniture showroom turns into a Halloween party 🍷

Sklar Furnishings hands its showroom over from 6:00pm to 8:00pm for a free Halloween night with wine, a tarot reader, a step dance lesson you are meant to join, and a set from the Platinum Steppers. The decorated brooms from the witches' bike ride are on display. It raises money for the Achievement Centers for Children and Families, and raffle tickets start at $10.
Sklar Furnishings, 6300 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton.

Run the Halloween 5K in costume 🎃

The Halloween 5K run and walk at Runners Edge goes off at 6:00pm, costume contest first. Entry is free, Hoka puts up a pair of Cliftons for first place, and there is cookie decorating and pumpkin carving going at the same time. Registration closes at 7:00pm.
Runners Edge, 3195 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton. 561-361-1950.

Nearby: a costume bar crawl down Atlantic Avenue 🧟

The Night of the Living Dead bar crawl takes over Honey, Good Night John Boy, Office Delray and Throw Social, with DJs at every stop and no cover at the door once you have a wristband. Check in at Honey between 7:00pm and 9:00pm, tickets start at $17.85, and the early bird tier has already sold out.
Honey Delray, 16 E Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach.

And for nothing at all: FAU plays North Texas on ESPN at 7:30pm, trivia starts 7:00pm at Subculture in Mizner Park, and the free comedy open mic at Holloway's goes 8:00pm to 10:00pm out west.

Dress the dog. You know you want to.

Yogurt Rendezvous sits in the Del Mar Village plaza and stays open to 11:00pm on a Thursday and to midnight on a Saturday, which is the part nobody seems to know. It is ORB certified kosher, which in this lane is rarer than it sounds, and 85 people have rated it.

This is the dessert you can still get at ten at night without going through a drive through.

The board is at the counter rather than online, so go and look. Open 11:00am to 11:00pm Thursday.
Yogurt Rendezvous, 7150 Beracasa Way, Boca Raton. 561-392-8384.

Venchi opened its first Florida gelato counter here 🍩

Venchi has made chocolate in Turin since Silviano Venchi started it, and the Palm Beach Post reported that the shop at Town Center is the first chocogelateria the company has opened in Florida. Gelato, gelatoshakes, crepes and thick hot chocolate come off one counter, 20-plus flavors rotate with tiramisu among them, and the Chocoviar wall behind it is the thing everybody photographs. Open 10:00am to 9:00pm Thursday.
Venchi, Town Center at Boca Raton, 6000 Glades Rd, Boca Raton. 561-453-1500.

One closes at eleven, one has a wall worth a photo. Pick by how late you are out.

Pynkberry Aesthetics takes appointments to 9:00pm on a Thursday, which is the difference between booking a facial and meaning to book one. 282 people have rated it and not one of them came in under 5 stars.

You can finish work, eat, and still be in the chair with a salmon DNA mask on your face before the night is over.

The 24K Salmon DNA Facial is $125, Signature Glass Skin $115, a TCA Peel $120, and the Carbon Laser Peel, Pynk Photofacial and microneedling with PRP are $259 each.
Pynkberry Aesthetics, 950 Peninsula Corporate Cir Ste 1023, Boca Raton. 561-405-7607.

Book the late one. Nobody is waiting behind you.

The best thing you can do with a long day. Photo: IntensityX3

IntensityX3 builds every class out of three parts: kickboxing on the heavy bag, conditioning, and a strength block with weights, glutes and core. Nobody needs to have thrown a punch before. Your first visit is a small Kickboxing 101 session where a coach teaches you the basics, and then you go straight into the real workout.

New members get a full week of classes free, and loaner gloves come with it, so the only thing you need to bring is the day you want to hit something.

Classes are by reservation only, so claim the free week here and book your first one from the schedule.
IntensityX3 East Boca, 500 NE Spanish River Blvd Ste 1, Boca Raton. 561-465-2039.

Go once. You will want to go back the next night.

The Find

Boca has the only Aritzia in the county 👗

The kind of thing you walk out with. Photo: WordPress Photo Directory

The Palm Beach Post reported that the Town Center store is the first Aritzia in Palm Beach County, the brand's fifth in Florida and only its second in south Florida. The mall's general manager said shoppers cannot get the label anywhere else in the county.

The Super Puff is the coat people drive for, and this is the only fitting room in the county where you can try one on first.

The 2026 line lists the Super Puff Shorty at $275, the Mid at $325 and the Long at $375, and the Effortless Pant runs $148. Open 10:00am to 8:00pm Thursday.
Aritzia, Town Center at Boca Raton, 6000 Glades Rd, Boca Raton. 561-705-1143.

The resale shop where Boca's designer closets end up 👜

Encore Plus is a designer resale boutique on East Palmetto Park Road, run by co-owner Chantal Gaudreau, and handbags are the specialty: there is a whole wall of Chanel and Gucci, with shoes, jewelry, coats and dresses filling the rest of the store. Everything is consigned by local women, so the stock turns over constantly and nothing is there for long.

It is the closest thing Boca has to shopping your richest friend's closet, and the sale racks are where the real deals hide.

Prices are on the tags rather than online, so go in and look. Open 10:00am to 5:00pm Thursday.
Encore Plus, 281 E Palmetto Park Rd, Boca Raton. 561-391-3812.

Buy the coat new. Buy the bag secondhand.

She can certify your paperwork for another country 🏠

Nadia Zay runs Boca Raton Notary Services and holds Florida notary commission HH413625 in her own name. An apostille is the certificate that makes a Florida document count abroad, and almost nobody knows where to take one until they need it in a hurry.

The stamp, the apostille and the translation all come off one desk, so a birth certificate headed overseas gets handled in one place.

A notarization is $10, an apostille $90, the fast apostille $150 and translation $20 a page. She also interprets Russian and English. Open 10:00am to 5:00pm Thursday.
Boca Raton Notary Services, 1501 NW 1st Ct, Boca Raton. 561-961-4025.

That's your day.

The showroom night opens at six with wine and a tarot reader, and somebody is going to teach you a step routine whether you turned up planning on that or not. The yappy hour runs earlier, five to half seven, so the dog gets judged and goes home before your evening even starts.

Frozen yogurt is still going at eleven, the gelato counter has a wall worth photographing, the facial room will take you at nine at night, the costume run hands out sneakers to whoever wins it, try the coat on in October and let Boca laugh, and save the notary's number before the week you need it.
